This suribachi is based on a traditional Japanese design. Used with a wood pestle, it serves as a unique mortar. The
pestle grinds the food against the grooved inside of the bowl: thus, grinding is more thorough and more efficient than
with smooth mortars.
It cleans easily with a vegetable brush.
